Privacy Policy

How Daily Stock (a TechnicalGuider product) collects, uses, stores and protects personal data under India’s DPDP Act, the roles we play for your account and for your dealers’ data, your rights, and how to reach our Grievance Officer.

In short

  • Daily Stock is made and run by TechnicalGuider, New Delhi. We collect what you give us to run your account, plus the technical data every app receives.
  • For your own account we are the Data Fiduciary. For your dealers’ names, numbers and chats we only process them on your instructions, as your Data Processor.
  • We never sell personal data and never use your dealers’ data for our own purposes.
  • WhatsApp tokens and app secrets are encrypted, passwords are hashed, and every workspace’s data is kept apart from every other workspace.
  • You can download all your data or delete your workspace from Settings > Data & privacy at any time.

Who we are and what this policy covers

Daily Stock is a software product made and run by TechnicalGuider (“TechnicalGuider”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a business based in New Delhi, India. Daily Stock reads a wholesaler’s stock from a Google Sheet, sends dealers a daily WhatsApp menu and branded PDF catalogs, and keeps every reply in one shared inbox.

This policy covers:

  • dailystock.in and the Daily Stock web app (the “App”);
  • the Daily Stock apps for iPhone and Android;
  • the public demo at dailystock.in/demo;
  • onboarding calls, support and billing for Daily Stock.

This policy is published under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, including the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, as they come into force. TechnicalGuider’s own website has its own privacy policy.

The two roles we play

Data Fiduciary for your account. For the personal data of the people who sign up and use Daily Stock (owners, administrators and staff: names, emails, phone numbers, sign-in and billing details), TechnicalGuider decides why and how it is processed. We are the Data Fiduciary for that data under the DPDP Act.

Data Processor for your dealers and contacts. The names, phone numbers, chats and other details of your dealers and contacts are your business’s data. Your business is the Data Fiduciary for them, and we process them only on your instructions, to run Daily Stock for you. Section 6 explains what we promise for that data, and our Terms of Service contain the processing terms.

Personal data we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, business name and city, and the role you have in a workspace.
  • Sign-in details: a hashed password (we never store the password itself), or the account identifier Google or Apple gives us when you sign in with them, and your session history (device type, IP address, time).
  • Billing details: legal name, GSTIN if you add one, billing address, invoice email, and from Razorpay the payment status, amount, payment id and the type of method used (for example UPI Autopay). Your card, UPI and bank details are collected by Razorpay, not by us.
  • Workspace content you put in: products, stock, prices, photos, catalogs, templates, broadcasts, settings, and your dealers’ and contacts’ names, numbers, labels and chats.
  • Connection details: the link of your Google Sheet and Drive folder, and the WhatsApp Business account, phone number IDs, access token and app secret you connect. Tokens and secrets are encrypted at rest and never shown again after you save them.
  • Setup and support details: the results of the setup checks, onboarding call bookings (time, language, phone number, the step you were on) and notes from those calls.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser or app version, device type, error logs and security logs.

The public demo

Anyone can try Daily Stock at dailystock.in/demo without signing up. The demo runs in a private sandbox filled with made-up sample data, and nothing in it is really sent: no WhatsApp message, no email and no payment leaves the demo.

To keep the demo fair for everyone we count demo visits per network, using a one-way hash of the network address (never the address itself), and we set a session cookie for 24 hours. Each sandbox is deleted within 24 hours. Do not type real customer data into the demo.

Why we use personal data

We use personal data to:

  • create and run your account and workspace, and sign you in securely;
  • provide the features you use: stock sync, catalogs, WhatsApp sends and replies, broadcasts, greetings, insights and the AI stock assistant;
  • run the setup checks, show you what to fix, and hold the free onboarding call when you book one;
  • bill you, issue GST tax invoices and keep the records the law requires;
  • send service emails (sign-in, security, billing, setup and alerts you can switch off);
  • keep Daily Stock secure: lock accounts after repeated wrong passwords, stop abuse of the demo and of messaging, and investigate errors;
  • improve Daily Stock using aggregated usage information that does not identify your dealers.

We process your account data to perform our agreement with you, on your consent, and for the legitimate uses the DPDP Act allows. We process your dealers’ data only to provide Daily Stock to you, as described in section 6.

Your dealers’ and contacts’ data

When we process your dealers’ and contacts’ data for you, we:

  • use it only to run Daily Stock for your workspace, on your instructions;
  • never sell it, never use it to market to them ourselves, and never use it to train AI models;
  • keep it separate from every other customer’s data;
  • show full phone numbers only to the people your workspace allows (staff see masked numbers like +91******0573);
  • let TechnicalGuider support see your workspace only when the owner grants it from Settings > Data & privacy, for 24 or 72 hours, read-only, with every page view recorded;
  • delete it when you delete your workspace (section 9).

You are responsible for having a lawful basis to message your dealers, for their opt-in to WhatsApp messages from your business, and for honouring their requests. Dealers who reply STOP are not sent marketing messages again. A dealer who wants their number removed should ask your business; if they write to us, we pass the request to you.

Who we share data with

We share personal data only with the service providers we need to run Daily Stock, and only what each one needs:

  • Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform): the messages your workspace sends and receives through your own WhatsApp Business account.
  • Google: read access to the Google Sheet and Drive folder you share with Daily Stock, and Google sign-in when you use it.
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple when you use it in the iPhone app.
  • Razorpay: your payments for Daily Stock plans.
  • Anthropic: the questions you ask the AI stock assistant and the figures it looks up from your own workspace to answer them.
  • Our email provider and our hosting provider, which stores Daily Stock’s data on servers in India.
  • TechnicalGuider’s own enquiries desk: when you book an onboarding call or your setup is stuck, your name, phone number, email, business, city and the setup step reach our team so we can call you.

We may also disclose data when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a sale or restructuring of the business, under the same protections. We never sell personal data.

Transfers outside India

Daily Stock’s database and files are stored in India. Some of the providers in section 7 (for example Meta, Google, Anthropic and our email provider) may process data outside India. The DPDP Act allows this except to countries the Government of India restricts by notification, and we will follow any such restriction.

How long we keep personal data

  • Account and workspace data: as long as the workspace exists.
  • A workspace that becomes read-only after a trial or a lapsed plan: at least 30 days, so you can come back exactly where you left off.
  • A workspace you ask us to delete: 30 days (you can cancel during that time), then deleted.
  • Catalog PDFs made by the dealer flow: 7 days; catalogs made in Catalog Studio: 30 days (the list of what was sent stays).
  • Photos and files dealers send you: 1 year.
  • Demo sandboxes: 24 hours.
  • Email delivery logs: 90 days. Security, access and activity logs: at least 1 year, and for 2 years at most.
  • GST invoices and payment records: 8 years, as tax law requires, even after a workspace is deleted.

How we protect personal data

  • Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
  • WhatsApp access tokens and app secrets are encrypted with AES-256 and never shown again after you save them.
  • Passwords are stored only as strong one-way hashes (argon2id); 5 wrong passwords lock sign-in for 15 minutes.
  • Every workspace’s data is separated in the database with row-level security, and our tests check that one workspace can never read another’s data.
  • Data exports are encrypted at rest and downloadable only by signed links that expire in 24 hours.
  • Our team’s console shows setup and billing status only: never your dealers’ names, numbers, chats or stock, unless you grant support access.

If a personal data breach happens, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act and Rules require.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, update or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, nominate someone to exercise your rights, and have a grievance addressed. In the App you can:

  • edit your profile and business details in Settings;
  • download all your workspace data as a ZIP of CSV files from Settings > Data & privacy;
  • delete your workspace from Settings > Data & privacy, and your account from Settings > Profile (also inside the iPhone and Android apps);
  • switch off setup reminders and alerts from the link at the bottom of those emails.

For anything else, write to our Grievance Officer (section 14). Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already happened, and some features cannot run without the data they need.

Cookies and browser storage

Daily Stock uses only the cookies it needs to work: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a short-lived cookie (10 minutes) while you sign in with Google. The App also stores small preferences (such as a collapsed sidebar) in your browser. We use no advertising or tracking cookies inside the App. When you pay, Razorpay’s checkout sets its own cookies under Razorpay’s policies.

Children

Daily Stock is a business tool for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children.

Grievance Officer

Shivam Gupta, Founder, TechnicalGuider, New Delhi, India.

We acknowledge every grievance within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days, as the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 require. If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. When a change matters, we tell account owners by email or in the App before it applies.
